I taught a beginner foundation paper pieced block through a collaboration with Annie’s Catalog today via their Facebook page. I design most of my quilts in EQ8 because the software allows you to easily rotate and flip blocks for a myriad of designs. Here are some of the layouts this 10″ block can make in a 52″x62″ quilt. I’ve also added PDF coloring sheet files so you can audition colors. Be sure to tag #scrappyheartfpp or #scrappyheartfppquilt so I can share your designs!
Here’s what the block looks like in a quilt, with all the blocks facing the same way: “Tiled” Coloring Sheet
Mod Zig Zag simply twists the block with the points up or facing right or left: “Mod ZigZag “Coloring Sheet
You can make “Spinner’ if you rotate each block a quarter turn.“Spinner” Coloring Sheet
