I’ve been trying to look at my stash in creative ways.  This time, I wanted to play with different shades of blue and thus, “Plaid Party” was designed in EQ8.

A very simple block in design, measuring 12″ finished, this quilt block uses your simple shapes: half-square triangles, squares and rectangles to make a secondary design when blocks are sewn together.

To make a 50″ square quilt you’ll need the yardage below,  plus 3 yards for the backing, and 1/2 yard for the binding.When you play around with multiple colors, the quilt really starts to look like a granny square. If you choose the scrappy version, be sure to have the background be consistent as in the picture below:
